Great team environment that provides opportunity to learn and grow. Looking for a team player with high attention to detail, reliability and excellent patient care. EMR experience a plus. Candidates with prior dermatology, plastic surgery or aesthetic experience preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize patient flow according to protocol and prepare exam rooms for patient examinations, while keeping rooms neat, clean, and properly sanitized in accordance with best safety practices and CDC's related guidelines
  • Set up procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instructions
  • Greet and escort patients to exam room upon arrival and help patients prepare for his/her exam as appropriate
  • Discuss with patient reason for his/her visit and document any symptoms or issues he/she is experiencing
  • Take vital signs and measure weight and height
  • Obtain and record each patient's medical history, vital statistics, test results, and/or other pertinent information in EMR system; confirm that medical history is accurate
  • Convey all patient information to doctor accordingly and document all medical instructions given to patients
  • Obtain preauthorization for procedures and/or medications as necessary
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician; send prescriptions and refills to pharmacy according to protocol
  • Assist physicians with surgical excisions and collecting biopsies / specimens
  • Performs Photodynamic Therapy under physician supervision
  • Schedule appointments for patients with other specialists as directed and fax appropriate records if necessary
  • Respond to patient questions in office and on the phone as instructed
  • Maintain and update medical records as necessary; file reports in patient charts in established order
  • Clean and straighten rooms between patients
  • Calibrate, clean, sterilize, and inventory all medical equipment and instruments; maintain appropriate records of maintenance program
  • Organize and make sure supply cabinets always well stocked; maintain medication samples, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records
  • Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and corporate compliance with other applicable law and regulations; follow accurate procedures, suggest improvements, and report any issues immediately
HEALTH SCREENER FUNCTIONS
  • Greet and check in all patients upon arrival
  • Sanitize each patient's hands and take temperature using thermometer
  • Direct patients into exam rooms
  • Clean and disinfect all materials to prepare for next visitor
OFFICE SUPPORT FUNCTIONS
  • Assist physicians and/or management with miscellaneous projects and tasks to help meet overall business objectives
  • Maintain company standards of performance and policies at all times
  • Provide on-going support to patients; provide general information, handle questions, obtain details of problems / concerns, and refer all necessary patient inquiries to physicians for further attention and discussion
  • Assist patient with retail product selections
  • Complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner; be sure to relay all relevant information to physicians to eliminate misunderstandings and/or surprises (i.e. change in health, etc.)
  • Consistently record all patient information and changes accurately in EZDERM; keep records of patient interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, concerns, etc.
