$24.00 - $26.00 per hour About Nimbus Health Nimbus Health is a multi-state pulmonology group caring for patients with asthma, COPD, sleep disorders, and other chronic lung conditions. Our clinics combine physician and advanced practice provider care with in-office pulmonary function testing and ongoing disease management. We are building our Milford, DE clinic team and looking for a Medical Assistant who takes pride in patient care and clinic flow. About the role The Medical Assistant works alongside our providers to keep the clinic running efficiently and patients well cared for. You will room patients, take vitals, assist with in-office testing, manage clinical documentation in athenaOne, and serve as a key point of contact for patients before, during, and after their visits. This is a hands-on clinical role in a specialty setting. You will learn pulmonology-specific workflows, including pulmonary function testing and inhaler education, with full training provided. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain vitals, and document chief complaint and medication reconciliation in athenaOne Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supply inventory Assist providers with in-office procedures and testing, including spirometry and pulmonary function tests Perform inhaler technique education and other patient teaching as directed Administer injections and perform point-of-care testing within scope and per protocol Process prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, and referrals Manage incoming clinical documents, lab results, and outside records Handle patient phone calls and portal messages; relay clinical messages to providers Schedule follow-up visits and coordinate diagnostic testing Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic infection-control standards Support front-desk coverage as needed Qualifications Required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent clinical experience Current BLS/CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire Strong patient communication skills and a professional, compassionate demeanor Accurate documentation habits and attention to detail Ability to work reliably in person at the Milford, DE clinic Preferred Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) Experience in pulmonology, allergy, or another specialty practice Experience with athenaOne or another EHR Experience performing spirometry or pulmonary function testing Pay and schedule $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience and certification Monday-Thursday, 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM Full-time, W-2 employment Nimbus Health is an equal opportunity employer.
