QUALIFICATIONS
Certification as a nursing assistant (preferred) or certified medical assistant (preferred);
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
;The Medical Assistant is a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, reporting directly to the Director of Surgery and interacting cooperatively with physicians and other personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
1. Supports the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Organization. 2. Contributes to the progress and development of the Organization's adopted Quality Management Program. ;3. Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers. ;4. Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences. 5. Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities. ;6. Assists licensed nursing personnel in providing perioperative care to the patient. 7. Applies technical and specialized skills relevant to pre/postoperative nursing. ;8. Displays knowledge of the requirements for instruments, supplies and equipment maintenance. 9. Transporting patients to their cars after surgery and assisting patients in post-op. 10. Other duties as assigned. ;
REQUIRED SKILLS

Aptitudes:
Requires audio and verbal acuity adequate to communicate with coworkers, staff, physicians, patient and visitors. Ability to organize. Ability to problem solve. ;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
