Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive clinical and administrative support within various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized departments such as dermatology, urgent care, and emergency medicine. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in patient care, medical documentation, and office management, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and healthcare providers alike. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Assist with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) to support patient care needs. Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Support physicians and nurses by documenting medical notes, coding diagnoses with ICD codes, and managing medical records efficiently. Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals while maintaining organized medical documentation. Assist in outpatient procedures or inpatient care activities in hospital or trauma center settings. Manage administrative responsibilities including answering patient inquiries, verifying insurance information, and processing billing using medical office management software. Support EMR/EHR system updates and ensure accuracy of electronic health records for ongoing patient care. Participate in inventory management of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as needed. Contribute to a positive patient service experience through effective communication and compassionate care. Skills Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with expertise in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate clinical documentation. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and ICD coding. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic life support certification. Familiarity with outpatient procedures, inpatient processes, OR (Operating Room) support, and Level I/II trauma center protocols. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Effective communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of medical office management practices including scheduling, billing, coding, and insurance verification. Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments such as geriatrics or inpatient units. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care while supporting the operational efficiency of our healthcare facility. Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
