Clinic hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Highest PRN demand: Monday-Thursday Job Summary The Medical Assistant provides both front office and back office support to healthcare providers in the preparation, examination, and treatment of patients. This role is a critical partner within the health center and requires strong clinical, administrative, and customer service skills. Responsibilities Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage, eligibility, and completing required paperwork Obtain patient history and vital signs Assist with coordination of patient care Administer medications Prepare examination rooms for patient visits Clean and sterilize instruments according to protocol Answer and route incoming telephone calls; take accurate messages as needed Assist providers with: Clinical information collection Immunizations Phlebotomy Medical procedures Schedule appointments and verify benefits/membership coverage Review preprinted patient instruction sheets with patients Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current BLS certification Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a provider's office Minimum 1 year of both front-office and back-office experience Phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting Strong computer skills Reliable and dependable with excellent time management skills Self-starter who can work independently Strong customer service and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) Position Details PRN opportunity Blend of front office administrative duties and back office clinical responsibilities Onsite role supporting City of Clearwater employees at a dedicated clinic location Long-term assignment expected to continue through the end of 2027 Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements.Benefits
