In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients, medical staff, and insurance providers. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, ensuring accurate collection of patient information and insurance details Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate smooth billing processes Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and updating patient information in EHR systems like eClinicalWorks Support administrative tasks such as appointment reminders, patient intake procedures, and managing office supplies to keep the clinic running efficiently Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eclinicalworks or similar platforms is essential Knowledge of medical terminology is required Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly in compliance with HIPAA standards Previous clinic or dental office experience involving appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk operations will be advantageous
