Assistant Position Summary The Front Desk / Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting both the administrative and clinical operations of pediatric practice. This position provides excellent customer service to patients and families while assisting providers in delivering safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care. The employee must be professional, dependable, organized, and able to work effectively in a busy pediatric environment while maintaining patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and all practice policies and procedures. e Clinical Works EHR experience desirable. Front Desk Responsibilities Greet patients and families in a friendly and professional manner. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments. Check patients in and out and verify demographic and insurance information. Answer telephone calls and assist patients with questions and requests. Collect copayments and other patient balances as required. Assist with referrals, forms, medical records, and other administrative duties. Maintain accurate patient information and protect patient confidentiality. Medical Assistant Responsibilities Prepare patients for provider visits and obtain/document vital signs. Complete patient intake and update medications, allergies, and medical history. Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with examinations and procedures. Assist with immunizations, laboratory testing, and specimen handling as permitted by training and scope of practice. Support medication reconciliation and clinical documentation. Assist with referrals, authorizations, follow-up, and care coordination. Maintain clean, organized, and safe clinical areas. Professional Expectations Provide compassionate and respectful service to children and their families. Work cooperatively with providers and all members of the practice team. Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements. Follow infection-control, safety, and practice policies. Demonstrate accuracy, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant certification or previous medical office experience preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform both administrative and clinical duties.
