HIPAA Medical Assisting Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Overview:

We are a small, friendly nephrology practice looking for an experienced and dependable Medical Assistant to assist the physician during office clinic hours. This position is primarily focused on direct patient care and preparing patients for their visit with the physician. Responsibilities Greet and room patients Take and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and other vital signs Review and update patient medical history Review and update medication lists and allergies Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record Prepare patients and exam rooms for the physician Assist the physician during patient visits as needed Review available lab results and make sure appropriate information is ready for the physician Help maintain an organized and efficient clinical workflow Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements Qualifications Previous Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred Experience working in a physician's office or medical practice Comfortable taking accurate blood pressure and other vital signs Comfortable reviewing patient medical histories and medications Familiarity with electronic medical records eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is strongly preferred Medical Assistant certification such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA is preferred CPR/BLS certification preferred Professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently Good communication skills and a caring attitude toward patients Schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Approximately 9-10 hours per week . We are looking for someone who can reliably commit to these three afternoons each week. Pay Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.
