The person in this position is part of the team concept in The Woodruff Institute's health delivery system, which is devoted to the delivery of the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an outpatient clinical setting, with emphasis on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment. T he individual in this position is a member of a team for The Woodruff Institute's health delivery system providing the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an out-patient clinical setting, with emphasis on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment. S/he will assist the clinical staff in performing their duties and carrying on the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures. Essential functions Complete start-of-day tasks as assigned Greet and escort patients to examination rooms Interview patient to verify demographics, medical history and purpose of visit Prepare patient for examination or surgical procedures Record physical examinations, document assessments/plans, complete diagnostic coding Complete lab slips and other forms as necessary Perform wound dressing changes, suture removals, prepare and administer injections Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, medications, and physician's instructions Follow universal precautions to protect patients, providers and self Send electronic prescriptions as necessary Abide by HIPAA rules by completing and safeguarding medical records while maintaining confidentiality Abide by OSHA rules to clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies Assist with patient phone calls and/or emails as necessary Complete end-of-day tasks as assigned Competencies
