Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories, vital signs, and medication information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits. Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, X-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) when needed. Support physicians with procedures in specialties like dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine, including assisting with minor surgeries or wound care. Document medical information accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), including ICD coding and detailed medical documentation. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, and coordinating follow-up care. Maintain medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and ensure proper handling of medical documentation and records management. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to support accurate documentation and patient care. Experience working in various clinical settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, Level I/II trauma centers, or emergency departments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records effectively. Skilled in performing clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, specimen collection (phlebotomy), X-ray assistance, and medication administration. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse patient populations. Familiarity with medical office management practices including appointment scheduling, intake procedures, and medical records management. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care centers or hospital inpatient units like PICU or Geriatrics units.
