Job Title:
Medical Assistant Lead Job Description The Medical Assistant Lead supports the Practice Manager in overseeing daily clinical operations for a small to medium-sized pediatric primary care office. This role ensures that the care team delivers high-quality, team-based patient care under the direct supervision of clinicians, covering both clinical and administrative functions. The Medical Assistant Lead helps maintain effective chronic disease management and supports examination and treatment for a pediatric patient population, while also providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to medical assistants. Responsibilities Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing daily clinical operations for a pediatric primary care clinic with fewer than 4.5 clinicians and fewer than 6 medical assistants. Ensure medical assistants deliver high-quality, team-based patient care under the direct supervision of clinicians. Support clinicians and care management teams in the maintenance of chronic disease management for pediatric patients. Assist clinicians with examination and treatment of pediatric patients, following established clinical protocols and guidelines. Perform direct patient care activities, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic clinical procedures as allowed by scope of practice. Utilize medical terminology accurately in documentation and communication with clinicians and care teams. Provide administrative support related to patient care, such as rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, updating medical records, and assisting with care coordination. Assist with leading and supervising medical assistants, providing guidance, support, and coaching in daily tasks and workflows. Contribute to performance evaluations of medical assistants by providing feedback on clinical performance, teamwork, and adherence to policies. Promote a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment for pediatric patients and their families. Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and quality standards related to patient care and safety. Support specialty training and application of specialized skills as required by the clinic's pediatric services. Collaborate with clinicians and staff to improve processes, patient flow, and overall patient experience. Essential Skills Minimum of a high school diploma. Minimum of 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting. Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain. Demonstrated patient care skills in an outpatient or clinic setting. Proficiency in phlebotomy and related specimen collection procedures. Solid understanding and use of medical terminology in clinical practice. Ability to support pediatric patient care, including chronic disease management and routine examinations. Capability to work in a team-based care environment under the direct supervision of clinicians. Strong organizational skills to support both clinical and administrative functions. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care setting preferred. Prior leadership experience in a clinical or healthcare environment preferred. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Medical foreign doctors must have a Bachelor of Science degree in General Medicine from a regionally accredited university or equivalent. Experience working in pediatric primary care or with pediatric populations is highly beneficial. Ability to provide feedback and assist in performance evaluations for medical assistants. Interest in specialty training related to pediatric primary care services. Work Environment This is a permanent, 100% onsite position in a pediatric primary care clinic located in Hollywood, FL. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with every-other Saturday from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In rare cases, you may be asked to work at a nearby sister clinic located approximately three minutes away. The environment is a team-based clinical setting focused on pediatric patients, where staff collaborate closely with clinicians and care management teams to deliver safe, friendly, and family-centered care. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hollywood, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
