Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will support our physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff by performing patient care tasks, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. This position requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and commitment to patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication lists Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures Perform EKGs, administer injections, and collect lab specimens (as trained/credentialed) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) Support scheduling, prior authorizations, and medication refills as needed Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required Current CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Prior experience in cardiology or a specialty practice a plus Strong computer/EMR proficiency (eCW preferred) and excellent communication skills Ability to multitask, work independently, and deliver outstanding patient care
