Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic and growing healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support the Provider by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth operations within the outpatient clinic. This position will be part-time from Monday through Wednesday/Thursday's. The position comes with PTO, Holiday pay, and a 401-k. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately. Prepare patients for examinations, including explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking a manual blood pressure and performing EKG's. This role will also cross-train to assess a patient's INR in our Coumadin Clinic and will also check implantable devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders. Support the Provider with medical documentation, ICD-10 coding for diagnoses, and maintaining detailed patient records. Manage appointment scheduling, patient correspondence, and medical administrative support to optimize clinic workflow. Experience Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or specialty areas preferably in cardiology, but also primary care or internal medicine is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support patient assessments and procedures. Strong background supporting diverse patient populations including geriatrics. Ideally the applicant is computer literate with strong computer and office technology experience and proficiency.
