Preferred Qualifications:

MA experience with blood draw experience (preferred) Front Desk (preferred) Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (preferred) CPR or BCLS certification (preferred) Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) (preferred)

Skills:

Understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and clinical workflows Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications Organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Required Screenings:

Drug Testing/Screening (Pre-Employment); Background Checks (Local, State & Federal). The Medical Assistant I is an entry-level role designed for individuals with a desire to learn and deliver excellent patient care. This position provides direct patient care support and assists clinical staff with daily operations in the Center. The role includes both advanced clinical and administrative responsibilities, working closely with Primary Care Providers, Physician Assistants, and APRNs to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care. Responsibilities involve direct patient interaction, accurate clinical documentation, and assistance with exams and procedures, all while supporting smooth and effective operations within the medical center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and professionalism Obtain and record patient history, vital signs, and other basic health information in the EMR Assist providers with routine examinations, procedures, and treatments Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and immunizations (as permitted by training and certification) Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, orderly, and stocked condition Support administrative tasks including scheduling follow-up appointments, managing patient flow, and updating records Observe strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and infection control policies Demonstrate a willingness to learn and build competency through ongoing training and mentorship Local travel between care centers may be required for coverage
