Seeking a dependable, compassionate Medical Assistant to support high-quality patient care in a family primary care setting. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with clinical and administrative duties, promote efficient patient flow, and help create a welcoming experience for patients and families. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and prepare them for their visit. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief concerns. Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, perform EKGs and other delegated clinical tasks within scope of practice. Assist the provider with examinations, procedures, and patient education. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered and permitted by applicable laws and practice protocols. Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms and clinical supplies. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record. Manage referrals, prior authorizations, prescription refill requests, and follow-up communications as assigned. Answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance information, and support front-office operations as needed. Follow infection-control standards, HIPAA requirements, safety policies, and established clinical workflows. Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare partners. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent relevant clinical experience. Current Medical Assistant certification preferred. Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date. Experience with electronic health records and basic computer skills. Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in family medicine, primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, or outpatient clinical practice. Experience with phlebotomy, EKG/ECGs, injections, immunizations, point-of-care testing, referrals, and insurance authorizations. Familiarity with EHR documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform routine clinical duties throughout the workday. Ability to lift or assist with supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations provided as applicable.
