Job Description
Provides clinical and administrative support to OB/GYN providers, including patient intake, vital signs, medical histories, assisting with examinations and procedures, scheduling, documentation, and patient education. Serves as a Spanish-English interpreter to ensure clear communication and compassionate care for bilingual patients while maintaining confidentiality and accurate medical records. Typical responsibilities Greet and room patients; obtain medical histories, vital signs, and medication information. Assist providers during OB/GYN examinations, Pap smears, pelvic exams, prenatal visits, and other procedures . Prepare exam rooms and maintain appropriate infection-control and sterilization standards. Collect and document patient information accurately in the EMR/EHR . Schedule appointments, referrals, follow-ups, and procedures. Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients as directed. Provide patient education regarding prenatal care, contraception, preventive care, and follow-up instructions. Serve as a Spanish-English interpreter when needed, ensuring clear communication between patients and medical staff. Handle phone calls, messages, forms, insurance information, and other front-office duties. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Assist with pregnancy-related care, including prenatal visits and coordination of laboratory testing and ultrasounds. Skills Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred or equivalent relevant experience Women's-health (OBGYN) experience preferred Strong communication and patient-service skills Knowledge of medical terminology EHR/EMR experience Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment Compassionate and culturally sensitive patient care Attention to detail and accurate documentation
