Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant (MA) participates in the delivery of excellent medical care in a patient centered physician owned Nephrology Corporation. The MA is responsible for completing administrative and clinical tasks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
General Duties- Adherence to organization's compliance programs, polices, procedures and handbook.
- Records and updates medical histories, medications and contact information in patient electronic health record (EHR.)
- Schedules patient appointments and completes referrals for patients.
- Answer incoming patient calls and return voicemails from patients.
- Accurate accessioning of patients to include taking and documenting vitals, rooming patients, and collecting lab specimens.
- Maintains a clean, safe and well-stocked working area (includes exam rooms and clinical areas.)
- Triage patients.
- Administrative responsibilities include patient schedule confirmations and working in the front office area as needed.
- Chart preparation prior to next visit, including obtaining and uploading outstanding patient test results from labs or uploading medical records.
- Other duties as assigned.
