Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills, ready to provide exceptional patient service while supporting medical staff with administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify patient information, and check-in appointments efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Tebra, Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Schedule patient appointments accurately via medical scheduling software and manage appointment calendars to optimize clinic flow. Collect and process insurance information, and handle billing procedures in compliance with health insurance policies like Medicare and HIPAA regulations. Maintain and update patient records meticulously, ensuring documentation review aligns with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Assist medical staff with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and supporting care plan documentation. Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries or routing calls appropriately. Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and data handling activities. Utilize computer skills to operate office equipment efficiently, including Microsoft Office applications for report generation and correspondence. Engage in medical coding activities such as CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding to assist in billing processes and ensure accurate reimbursement. Requirements Prior clinic experience or medical office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Tebra, Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management standards. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), and documentation review practices. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Bilingual capabilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Demonstrated clerical skills including filing, data entry (10-key typing), and office organization. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies under HIPAA regulations. Computer literacy across Microsoft Office suite along with familiarity with EMR/EHR management tools is required. Experience working in healthcare settings involving medical billing, care plans, or health insurance knowledge is advantageous.
