$18.00•$25.00 per hour (based on experience) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our busy Urology practice in the Palm Harbor area. This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys working in a specialty setting and is committed to providing exceptional patient care while supporting providers in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient intake, procedure preparation, prior authorizations, medication refills, scheduling, and care coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable discussing sensitive health concerns with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliation Prepare patients for urology examinations and in-office procedures Assist providers during office procedures as needed Perform urine specimen collection and point-of-care testing according to office protocols Review upcoming schedules and provide appointment reminders Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Complete patient check-in and check-out, including collecting copays and outstanding balances Ensure all patient forms, consents, and documentation are complete and accurate Process prior authorizations for imaging, medications, and specialty procedures Handle medication refill requests in accordance with provider protocols Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, imaging, and follow-up appointments Manage a high-volume, multiline phone system while providing exceptional customer service Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Support providers with administrative and clinical duties while ensuring efficient patient flow Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver compassionate, respectful care Qualifications Required Current BLS Certification Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty practice Professional demeanor with excellent patient service skills Preferred Previous experience in a Urology, Surgical, Internal Medicine, or other specialty physician practice Experience with EMR systems and insurance prior authorizations Familiarity with in-office urologic procedures and specimen collection What We're Looking For Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Compassionate and patient-focused, with the ability to handle sensitive health concerns professionally Dependable, adaptable, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities Strong team player with excellent communication skills Committed to providing high-quality patient care and supporting an efficient clinical workflow Benefits 401(k) 401(k)
