Job Description
Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases / American Medical Group is growing! We are looking to add Certified Clinical/Registered Medical Assistant's for both administrative and clinical tasks in the practice. American Medical Group - Pensacola is a Multi-Specialty location that offers Infectious Diseases, with Allergy & Immunology to be launched in November! The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is responsible for providing high-quality clinical and administrative support within a busy allergy and immunology practice. This role assists providers with patient care, allergy testing, immunotherapy administration, patient education, and daily clinic operations while maintaining exceptional customer service and adherence to safety standards Patient Care Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories, vital signs, medication lists, and allergy information. Prepare patients for examination and treatment by providers. Document clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures. Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection when indicated. Administer medications and injections within scope of practice and according to provider orders. Allergy-Specific Clinical Responsibilities Perform allergy skin prick testing and intradermal testing as directed by providers. Prepare, label, maintain, and administer allergy immunotherapy injections according to established protocols. Monitor patients following allergy injections and recognize adverse reactions. Assist in the management of allergic reactions and emergencies, including anaphylaxis. Provide patient education regarding allergy testing, immunotherapy, environmental controls, medication usage, and treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of allergy testing and immunotherapy records. Administrative Responsibilities Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, testing, and procedures. Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations under provider supervision. Manage patient communications, including phone calls, portal messages, and care coordination. Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records. Assist with referral management and obtaining medical records. Clinic Operations Maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment. Ensure proper handling and storage of medications, vaccines, allergy extracts, and supplies. Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety regulations. Assist with inventory management and supply ordering. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training.
