We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our culture and our fast paced, multi-disciplinary practice. The position is full time. Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, injections and testing of patients. Educates patient/family about procedures, and maintenance of health and wellness. Schedules patient appointments and procedures according to established protocol. Greets patients and prepares them for provider examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. All patient interactions should be in a friendly and professional manner. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding pre-operative and post-operative care and medication questions. Coordinates community and medical practice partnerships Maintains patient confidentiality. Prepares documentation for medical records including updating patient medical chart by posting patient disclosed information and test results, diagnosis, medications, and treatment in written/computerized manner. Completes administrative duties that ensure the patient's experience is positive, patient inquires and needs can be processed timely and accurately, and all clinic areas remains clutter free and organized Assist physicians in procedure department to include pre op, post op and intra op. Complete and accurate information should be obtained from the patient/family Administer injections as ordered by provider Coordinate when necessary and attend meetings as requested Performs other duties as assigned, directed or required.
Education:
Current Medical Assistant Certification Knowledge:
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to communicate effectively. Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
Skills:
Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques. Skill in using office equipment and handling paperwork/filing adequately. Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately. Skill in written and verbal communication.
Abilities:
Ability to work effectively as a team member with providers and other staff. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff and others. Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others. Ability to communicate clearly.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to stand for 8 hours. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions.
