Job Description

Conviva Senior Primary Care seeks a caring Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering coordinated, value-based care for adults 65+. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, documenting histories, assisting with exams and procedures, administering injections, performing basic lab tests, managing EKGs, and supporting care coordination and referrals. The Medical Assistant also provides patient education on chronic conditions and wellness programs, maintains exam rooms and supplies, and upholds infection control and safety standards in a compassionate, team-oriented environment focused on seniors' health and independence. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories Document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and treatments Administer injections and vaccines per protocol and scope Collect and process lab specimens; perform basic lab tests and EKGs Support care coordination, referrals, and follow-up appointments Provide patient education on chronic conditions, medications, and wellness programs Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and adhere to infection control standards Assist with medication reconciliation and prior authorizations as directed Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support seniors' preventive and primary care needs Required Skills Vital signs measurement Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Phlebotomy and specimen collection Administering injections and immunizations Basic lab testing and CLIA-waived tests EKG performance and preparation Infection control and aseptic technique Medication administration support Patient scheduling and coordination Patient education on chronic disease and wellness
