Job Description

Overview A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. Responsibilities Depending on the clinic needs, duties may include scheduling patient appointments, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation, as well as appropriate demographic and financial information, maintaining medical records, announcing the arrival of patients, answering incoming telephone calls, serving as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians and others Ability to assume the responsibilities of co-workers who are on authorized absences. Must participate in 80% training; attend 80% staff meetings Write and review reports as necessary. If employees has a valid phlebotomy certification, he/she may perform PT INR testing in Anticoagulation Clinic for which he/she maintains competency. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Required Education:
Must be a graduate from an approved Medical Assistant program
Skills:
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of ambulatory health care or related health care fields. Skilled in conflict resolution.
