Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth functioning of the medical office. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients while assisting healthcare providers with a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and supporting minor procedures. Manage patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating electronic health records (EHR systems), and ensuring accurate documentation of medical records. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples and handle specimen processing with precision. Support medical office management through scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Administer medications and provide basic life support (BLS) as needed during emergencies or patient care activities. Conduct patient education on medication usage, treatment plans, and health maintenance strategies based on pharmacology knowledge. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and hospital medicine standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office support role, preferably with outpatient or inpatient experience in hospital medicine or urgent care settings. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous. Familiarity with EMR/EHR platforms, medical documentation practices, and hospital experience including Level I or Level II trauma center exposure is highly desirable. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately across diverse populations. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to outpatient care and inpatient settings is preferred.
