This role is critical in supporting dermatologists and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical and cosmetic dermatologic care. The ideal candidate is experienced in dermatology clinical workflows , comfortable assisting with procedures, and able to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to anticipate provider needs during both medical and cosmetic treatments. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Intake & Clinical Preparation Room patients and obtain comprehensive medical histories Document chief complaints, medications, allergies, and dermatologic history in the EMR Record vital signs and update patient charts accurately Prepare patients for examinations and dermatologic procedures Capture clinical photography for skin lesions and treatment documentation Dermatologic Procedure Support Prepare and maintain biopsy and excision trays including sterile instruments and supplies Assist providers during dermatologic procedures including: Skin biopsies Excisions and closures Cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen Intralesional injections Electrocautery procedures Provide wound care instructions and assist with bandaging and dressing changes Ensure proper sterilization and instrument turnover between procedures Pathology & Specimen Processing Accurately label and prepare pathology specimens for laboratory submission Complete pathology requisitions and ensure documentation is entered in the EMR Track pathology reports and assist providers with follow-up documentation when necessary Mohs Surgery Coordination Assist with Mohs surgery scheduling and coordination Prepare surgical charts and pathology documentation for Mohs cases Communicate with patients regarding surgical preparation and post-procedure instructions Coordinate referrals and follow-up visits related to Mohs surgery cases Cosmetic Dermatology Support Assist providers during cosmetic procedures including: Botox and neuromodulator injections Dermal fillers Laser and energy-based treatments Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cosmetic procedure supplies Document cosmetic procedures and ensure proper photography before and after treatments Educate patients on post-procedure care and follow-up scheduling Clinical Operations & Patient Flow Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and procedure areas Stock clinical supplies and monitor inventory levels Support efficient patient flow by preparing rooms and anticipating provider needs Coordinate with front desk staff to manage schedules and patient wait times Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent clinical experience Dermatology experience strongly preferred Experience assisting with dermatologic procedures and cosmetic treatments is a plus Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EMR/EHR) Knowledge of medical terminology and dermatologic conditions Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting BLS certification preferred Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of dermatology workflows and procedures Ability to anticipate provider needs during clinical and cosmetic treatments High attention to detail for documentation and specimen processing Excellent communication and patient education skills Professional demeanor with a strong focus on patient care and experience Work Environment This position is based in a high-volume dermatology practice providing both medical and cosmetic dermatologic care . The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative clinical environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient service while supporting efficient clinic operations.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
