MEDICAL ASSISTANT PHLEBOTOMIST

Primary Care, Internal Medicine and Infectious DiseasePOSITION OVERVIEW
Seeking a Medical Assistant with strong phlebotomy skills to support providers and adult patients in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. This position combines hands-on patient care with administrative support, including patient intake, blood draws, specimen preparation, clinical documentation and care coordination.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs and chief complaints
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws
- Label and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed and within scope
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Collect blood, urine and swab specimens
- Assist providers during exams and procedures
- Document patient information and procedures in the EHR
- Process lab requisitions, track results and alert providers to abnormal findings
- Clean, stock and prepare exam rooms
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control and specimen-handling standards
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Strong phlebotomy and specimen-handling experience
- BLS or CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- One or more years of outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Primary care, internal medicine or infectious disease experience preferred
- EHR proficiency and basic computer skills
- A reliable, detail-oriented and patient-focused approach
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $16-$17 per hour
- Medical, dental and vision insurance after six months
- 401(k) with a 3% match after six months
- 104 hours of PTO, accruing at four hours every two weeks
