This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) when necessary. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems/EMR) accurately by documenting patient encounters, updating medical records, and coding diagnoses using ICD coding standards. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining medical documentation with precision. Conduct in-office procedures related to dermatology, aesthetics, outpatient care, or emergency medicine as directed by providers. Ensure compliance with safety protocols including infection control practices and proper handling of pharmaceuticals in accordance with pharmacology guidelines. Facilitate communication between patients and providers to enhance patient service experience while maintaining professionalism at all times. Experience Prior medical office experience of two years is required; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, (Jane) is essential for efficient documentation. Experience working in med spa/dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessment and documentation. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and ICD coding enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Additional certifications related to medical assisting or specialized fields are a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage medical records efficiently while providing excellent patient service in a fast-paced environment.
