    • Medical Assistant Certification Position Summary The Medical Assistant reports to the Clinic Manager and is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care support within scope of practice, including assisting clinicians and nurses, obtaining and documenting patient information, and ensuring safe, efficient clinic operations.
    Additionally, this position supports clinic functions through inventory management and administrative tasks that facilitate patient flow and overall service delivery. In collaboration with providers, nurses, patients, families, and campus partners, the Medical Assistant contributes to a high-quality, patient-centered care experience and the effective day-to-day operations of the clinic. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
    • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and effectively use electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and support efficient patient flow.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    • Ability to accurately obtain, document, and communicate patient information with attention to detail.
    Physical Demands Active throughout the 8 hours work day to include typical busy medical office/clinic demands, including walking, standing, sitting, reaching, typing, bending, talking, listening, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Patient Care Provides care to patients within scope of practice. Directly assists clinicians and nurses in treating patients. Obtains chief complaint, brief history, appropriate vital signs, current medications, and allergies. Documents patient information clearly and accurately. Recognizes abnormal findings and urgent problems and seeks appropriate assistance. Anticipates special supplies and equipment required for visit. Takes clinical photographs to add to PnC documentation. Assists clinician with exam and treatments, including sterile procedures and chaperoning. Reemphasizes patient education within level of expertise. Ensures patient and staff safety at all times. Completes all assignments and procedures in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision. Percentage of time 60 Duties/Responsibilities Inventory Monitors and maintains clinic supplies, equipment, and exam rooms. Understands and adheres to infection prevention responsibilities in patient care and in clinic support functions. Maintain clean and stocked exam and procedure rooms. Maintains supply and utility rooms, monitors equipment, tanks, and solutions. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities Administrative Duties Provides clerical and secretarial support for clinic functions as needed to facilitate patient flow. Schedules appointments accurately and appropriately. Receives patients and others who present in the clinic for appointments, care, or special needs or services.
