Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) procedures to support patient treatment plans. Document medical information meticulously, including medical documentation, ICD coding, and detailed notes within EMR/EHR systems. Support physicians and healthcare providers with medical office management tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing medical records. Conduct patient education on treatment protocols, medication usage, and health maintenance strategies based on physiology knowledge. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols in hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology clinics, or specialty units like PICU or trauma centers. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to ensure precise communication and documentation. Proven experience in outpatient settings such as urgent care or dermatology clinics; inpatient hospital experience is a plus. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management tools for efficient data entry and retrieval. Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle intake processes smoothly while providing compassionate care. Ability to perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with hospital medicine practices across various specialties such as internal medicine or geriatrics; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation accuracy, and supporting medical office operations efficiently.
