In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive medical assisting support across various specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine. You'll be a key player in managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), performing clinical procedures, and supporting physicians in delivering top-tier healthcare. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting vital signs, medical history, and current medications using EHR systems. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Document medical information accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and ensure proper medical records management. Support physicians with procedures in outpatient settings, including dermatology, emergency medicine, or inpatient care when needed. Manage medical documentation including ICD coding, anatomy and physiology notes, and detailed medical records for compliance and billing purposes. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Support medical office management tasks such as inventory control of supplies and maintaining a clean, organized clinical space. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital or outpatient settings to deliver coordinated patient care across specialties like geriatrics or internal medicine. Experience Prior medical office experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation practices. Hands-on experience in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine environments is highly desirable. Inpatient or outpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools. Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to medication administration and patient treatment plans. Experience performing phlebotomy and vital signs collection in diverse clinical settings such as PICU or OR environments preferred. Familiarity with ICD coding processes and anatomy/physiology fundamentals to support accurate diagnoses and billing. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital experience are advantageous.
