Role Summary:

The Medical Assistant will collaborate with the care team to deliver high quality pulmonary care by performing and providing the following tasks and services:

Responsibilities:

Using the EMR to document patient clinical data (e.g., medical history, vital signs, etc.). Prepare the exam room and patient for the appropriate visit. Perform POS (point of service) testing, ordering labs. Documenting and managing patient results and medication requests via EMR or by phone. Maintaining supplies and equipment as determined by practice protocols. Perform diagnostic procedures (e.g., pulmonary function tests, EKGs, etc.) Prepare and administer injections. Obtain Pre-certs and Authorizations as needed for services, internal and external procedures to support the treatment plan. Cross Trained to perform Administrative Tasks to include : Patient Registration Schedule appointments and procedures Answer and triage phone calls, follow up with patients, etc. Remote Patient Activities All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

3+ years of Medical Assistant experience required; pulmonology preferred. 2+ years of EMR experience required; Athena preferred. Formal Medical Assistant training required; BLS and/or CMA/RMA certification preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required Valid
