Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to monitor patient health status. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Support physicians during procedures by handling instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting with medication administration when needed. Perform basic diagnostic tasks including X-ray imaging and other outpatient or inpatient assessments within scope of practice. Manage medical documentation including ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate billing and record-keeping. Support emergency medicine teams in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers by providing critical patient care support in high-pressure situations. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols for infection control. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. Assist with hospital-based activities such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or geriatrics clinics to support specialized patient populations. Experience X-Rays (Required) Certified Medical Assistant Certificate (Required) Prior experience working in Orthopedics, dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or emergency departments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology necessary for effective patient care. Experience with EHR systems used for documentation, scheduling, and billing processes across outpatient and inpatient settings. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures or other diagnostic imaging techniques is a plus. Familiarity with ICD coding practices for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing compliance. Previous hospital experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers enhances your ability to thrive in high-acuity environments. Knowledge of medication administration protocols within scope of practice in various clinical settings including medical-surgical units or geriatrics clinics.
