Job Description

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the practice administrator and physician. Administrative duties may include phone calls, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing charges, and insurance verifications. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patient charts, drawing blood, and administering medications and injections as directed by the physician. Must be able to travel to clinics in Stockbridge, Griffin, and Fayetteville.
Job Tasks:

Prepare charts for next day's/today's scheduled patients; making sure labs/diagnostic test results are in the chart and that it is complete and ready for the physician to see the patient Phone calls Scheduling appointments Checking in patients Triage patient (vital signs/medication review) Administer Procrit injections, iStat testing, UA's Clean and restock exam rooms Check out patients Phoning in/faxing prescription refills Scanning documents Maintaining and auditing pharmaceutical samples Use and maintain office/medical supplies Computer/Internet work with hospital/lab/insurance websites Scanning insurance cards/picture ID's Verifying insurances and updating demographic information yearly and as needed Handling patient payments/cash, check, credit card Type letters for the Dr./patients as needed Schedule diagnostic tests for patients Check work e-mail on a daily basis for messages and website referrals and take care of these promptly. Set up appointments/faxing pertinent information on patients that are referred to specialists Handling medical record requests Maintain confidentiality at all times Maintain a cheerful attitude with the patients Be a team player Assist with any other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Education and Training Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma. Medical Assistant diploma or certificate required. Current Georgia drivers license. Must have experience within a clinical setting.
