Schedule:

NOC Shift, 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM; must be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Paramedical Assistant to join our 'ohana supporting a residential behavioral health care setting! Perform a variety of nursing support tasks for individuals with mental illness in a health facility setting Assist patients/residents with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and toileting Take vital signs, measure output, and recognize abnormal signs and symptoms Observe and report changes in patients' condition, behavior, or skin color Assist, lift, and transfer patients as needed Respond quickly and calmly to emergency or unpredictable situations Follow detailed instructions and close guidance from supervising staff Maintain patience, tact, and an even temperament when working with a variety of individuals Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Hard skills: Knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care; ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English; ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely; physically able to assist, lift, and transfer patients and respond quickly to emergencies Soft skills: Patient, empathetic, and comfortable working closely with individuals who have a variety of disabilities and mental health needs; even-tempered and emotionally stable under pressure; strong sense of respect and care ethics; reliable and willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
