Responsibilities include:
Assist physicians and clinical leads with patient care and movement throughout the clinic Room patients, obtain medical histories and chief complaints, and accurately document information in the EMR Provide direct assistance to physicians and physician assistants in and out of exam rooms Process prescription requests according to physician orders and established protocols Prepare and document physician orders for surgeries, diagnostic testing, and other recommended services Obtain surgical consents according to physician and facility protocols Complete screening questionnaires for diagnostic testing and surgical procedures Apply and remove casts, splints, and DME supplies and complete required billing documentation Provide patients with post-operative instructions and education according to physician protocols Assist with suture removal as directed Perform X-rays according to physician protocols, when applicable Clean and stock exam rooms Ensure equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and ready for the next clinic day Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patients, families, physicians, coworkers, vendors, and other partners
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years of age Valid Iowa driver's license Knowledge of electronic medical records Knowledge of medical terminology Strong verbal, written, and customer service skills Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification Must obtain and maintain required professional certification Mandatory reporter certification for both children and adults Candidates must hold an active certification or license in one of the following areas: Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)], Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), or Kinesiology certification.
