A Medical Assistant assists physicians and other medical specialists with routine administrative or clinical tasks. Organizes patient records, schedules appointments, and prepares medical equipment. May specialize in administrative or clinical work, or specialize in a particular area of medicine, i.e. assisting in the office of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Works in medical offices.
Performs maintenance activities of the hyperbaric chambers and associated systems and equipment, as directed Reports on safety issues and/or concerns. Performs data entry into appropriate clinical data/charge systems and develop reports as requested. Perform marketing duties as needed, intra and interdepartmental. Take an active role in enhancing ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth and development and participates in medical center and/or departmental education programs. Supports and abides by all medical centers, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment. Performs other responsibilities as requested by supervisor, manager or department head.

Days - 8:00am - 4:30pm No weekends or holidays
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Completion of an accredited Hyperbaric training course, or applied health program such as: EMT; LPN; Medical Assistant; Physical Therapy Assistant; or Life Support Tech. Must hold appropriate license or certification in the state of Iowa, strongly preferred. Completion of Hyperbaric training course within 6 months of hire. Certification as a hyperbaric technician (CHT) within 3 years preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in healthcare or the diving industry; Wound care; or hyperbaric medicine and/or experience in emergency medicine or acute medical care is preferred.
Special Skills and Competencies:
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains status.
Completes Mandatory Reporting:
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire.
