Job Description

The Medical Assistant Supervisor participates as an active team member in a medical assistant role while overseeing the day-to-day operations of TVHC's medical assistants. The Supervisor is responsible for such duties as hiring, orientation, training, scheduling and progressive discipline of TVHC employees, in conjunction with the Clinic Director. The Medical Assistant Supervisor ensures Clinic protocols are adhered to as well as TVHC policies.

Sign-On Bonus:

This position qualifies for a $5,000 sign-on bonus . The bonus is structured in two installments: $2,500 paid on your first regular paycheck , and $2,500 paid upon the successful completion of one year of employment . Oversees and is accountable for the efficient day to day operations of the Clinics, scheduling sufficient, competent Medical Assistants. Works up to 50% of the time as a medical assistant with the flexibility to cover shifts as needed. Works with HR to post, advertise and select new employees for hire as well as discipline and terminations as needed and under the review and approval of the Clinic Director. Participates in conjunction with the Clinic Director in the evaluation process of the medical assistants. Oversees medical assistant training and competencies which includes monthly in-services. Be flexible to assist medical assistant staff during and after hours as available. Is responsible for ensuring facility wide updates and announcements are communicated to all clinical staff. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and appropriate licensing/accrediting agencies. Establishes, maintains, and monitors an effective quality assurance program. Has basic knowledge of the budget process to assure the clinics run in an economical and efficient manner. Coordinates with Materials Management regarding inventory, potential savings, new supplies or vendors. Maintains an effective, professional relationship with the medical staff, other departments and administration. Become an EMR super user, be able to troubleshoot issues, facilitate resolutions with the TVH informaticist and communicates any changes in processes to all clinical staff Remove the Reviews and approves timecards line Attends morning huddles as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in related field, or Licensed LPN or RN A combination of medical office background and clinical/surgical experience Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, as well as internal and external health care professionals Experience using Microsoft office such as Word, Outlook and Excel Excellent organizational skills Ability to maintain and follow guidelines, set standards of practice in quality patient care, and state, federal, and facility required infection control practices CPR/BLS, or ACLS/PALS, Healthcare Certification

Additional languages - Spanish Preferred Previous experience in Healthcare management or department supervisory role
