We're a growing solo-physician practice with a collaborative, high-standards team and a genuinely appealing schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm, with occasional Fridays — no nights, no weekends, no call. The role We're looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to be a core part of our clinical and administrative team. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable moving between patient care and the front-end revenue work that keeps a specialty practice running smoothly. Experience in interventional pain, spine, or a procedural specialty is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Room patients, take vitals, document history, and prepare patients for evaluation and procedures Assist the physician during clinic and in-office procedures as needed Manage prior authorizations for procedures, imaging, and medications from submission through approval Work insurance denials and appeals, coordinating with our billing team Handle clinical intake, patient communication, and follow-up Maintain accurate documentation in our EMR Support day-to-day clinic flow alongside our front-desk and operations staff Qualifications Medical Assistant certification/experience required Prior experience in interventional pain, spine, orthopedics, or a similar procedural specialty strongly preferred Working knowledge of prior authorizations and insurance denial/appeal workflows Phlebotomy skills are a significant advantage Familiarity with ModMed preferred Strong communication skills and comfort in a small, fast-moving team Why Apex Full-time, Monday-Thursday (occasional Fridays) — no call, no weekends

Salary:
