Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at our outpatient orthopedic clinic specializing in foot and ankle care. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills. This role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including assisting physicians with patient care, maintaining patient records, and performing basic clinical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Assist physicians during exams, procedures, and minor surgeries. Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.). Assist with casting, splinting, and wound care. Educate patients on post-operative care instructions. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Manage medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer phone calls and schedule appointments. Handle insurance verification and prior authorizations. Maintain inventory of medical supplies. Assist with billing and coding as needed.
Clinic Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment. Assist with the sterilization and disinfection of medical equipment. Participate in team meetings and staff training.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
