Job Description

We are looking for a dependable, team player to join our small family practice. This position is for medical assistant that will also be cross trained to cover the front desk on rare occasion. The ideal applicant is someone who works well with others, is reliable, detail oriented and can multitask in a fast paced environment. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The mission is to complete all tasks accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Weekends off. Holiday pay Vacation pay 401k Health insurance Summer and Winter bonuses based on production. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history Organize and schedule appointments Arrange referrals, imaging and laboratory services Check-in patients and input information into chart Assist during medical examinations and minor surgeries Perform venipuncture, UAs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs, vision and hearing exams, and administer therapeutic/immunization injections. Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms-insurance prior authorizations, gather medical records, etc. Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Take inventory and stock medical supplies in exam rooms Trained to assist in coverage of front office duties Skills Preferred- experience as a medical assistant Knowledge of medical office and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software Proficient in obtaining patient vitals, venipuncture, and injections. Knowledge of adult and pediatric vaccines
