Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical documentation to ensure smooth and efficient clinic functioning. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality healthcare services in a behavioral health office. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your medical assisting skills in a fast-paced environment committed to patient-centered care. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or specialty clinics. Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Conduct phlebotomy (blood draws) and administer medications under physician supervision when required. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans. Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy regulations. Assist with basic pharmacology tasks such as medication reconciliation and understanding medication administration protocols. Take and record detailed notes for medical documentation, ICD coding for diagnoses, and ensure proper handling of medical records. Support inpatient or outpatient settings across various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma centers. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a strong background in medical office support and clinical procedures. Knowledge of behavioral health services and toxicology services, as well as lab services. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of medical terminology,, ICD coding, and pharmacology principles. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse patient populations. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as clinics or hospital settings while maintaining attention to detail.
