Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office administrative support with clinical responsibilities, ensuring seamless patient experiences and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient intake, and vital signs, while also assisting medical providers with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic physiology assessments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services across various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and hospital medicine. Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform accurate data entry to ensure complete medical records management Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate to support clinical assessments Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic anatomy or physiology evaluations Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all clinical supplies are stocked and organized for daily use Support inpatient and outpatient care by understanding hospital protocols, including Level I & II trauma center procedures and PICU or Geriatrics experience when applicable Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions Manage appointment scheduling efficiently while coordinating with multiple departments to optimize clinic flow Qualifications Proven experience in medical assisting within dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine or similar outpatient settings Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and pharmacology principles Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR platforms for documentation and data management Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not mandatory Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and strong communication abilities Familiarity with hospital experience including inpatient care procedures or Level I & II trauma center protocols is highly desirable Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, intake assessments, X-ray assistance, and specimen collection (phlebotomy) Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support accurate patient assessments and clinical documentation Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate care in a vibrant healthcare environment!
