Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical environment, including urgent care and inpatient settings. This position requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding, as well as experience in trauma centers. The Medical Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal care delivery. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in both urgent care and inpatient settings. Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and ensuring they are comfortable. Maintain accurate patient records, including coding and documentation of procedures performed. Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the clinical environment. Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and preventive care measures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care in a Level I or Level II trauma center. Qualifications Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential for effective communication and documentation. Experience working in urgent care or operating room (OR) settings is preferred. Familiarity with coding practices related to medical billing is advantageous. Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
