Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while supporting clinical operations. You will perform a variety of administrative duties, assist with clinical tasks, and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the medical office. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across multiple healthcare disciplines, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage appointment scheduling efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Collect patient intake information, record vital signs, and assist with basic physical assessments. Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures such as X-ray or phlebotomy. Support clinical workflows by documenting medical histories, updating medical records, and managing medical documentation accurately. Assist with medication administration, pharmacology support, and basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary. Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, managing patient check-in/out processes, and coordinating referrals or follow-up appointments. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by managing ICD coding, medical records management, and ensuring confidentiality of patient information. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology. Strong background in outpatient care environments such as family practice or urgent care clinics. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or X-ray technician are a plus. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical assisting techniques is essential. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in fast-paced settings. Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining accuracy in documentation and data entry. $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
