Job Title:

Medical AssistantJob Description The Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by rooming patients, recording vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record system, performing phlebotomy and blood draws, and managing lab orders and results, including communicating results to patients in a timely and professional manner. Responsibilities

+ Room patients efficiently and ensure they are prepared for their visit, maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

+ Accurately take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and other measurements as required.

+ Document patient information, encounters, and procedures in the EMR system (eClinicalWorks) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Perform phlebotomy and blood draws following clinical protocols and safety procedures.

+ Input laboratory orders and results into the system promptly and accurately.

+ Call patients to relay lab results and provide clear, courteous communication while following practice guidelines.

+ Provide compassionate patient care and customer service, responding to patient questions and needs professionally.

+ Support healthcare providers and clinical staff in delivering high-quality medical care.

+ Follow all clinical procedures and office policies to maintain a safe and organized care environment. Essential Skills

+ Experience in medical assisting or a similar clinical support role.

+ Ability to room patients and prepare them for examinations in a professional and efficient manner.

+ Proficiency in taking and recording vital signs accurately.

+ Ability to perform phlebotomy and blood draws following proper clinical techniques and safety standards.

+ Experience documenting in an EMR system, preferably eClinicalWorks (EcW).

+ Strong patient care skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and clear communication.

+ Customer service skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.

+ Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and medical office procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred but not required.

+ Certified Medical Assistant (MA) credential is preferred but not required.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.

+ Strong attention to detail when entering data and documenting patient encounters.

+ Comfort working with electronic medical records and related healthcare technology. Work Environment This role works in a clinical healthcare setting, supporting providers and patients across different areas as needed. The Medical Assistant may float between various departments or locations, adapting to different teams and patient populations. The environment involves regular use of medical equipment for vital signs and phlebotomy, as well as ongoing work within the eClinicalWorks EMR system. The position requires maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, following clinical safety protocols, and working within standard healthcare hours as determined by the practice. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Overland Park, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
