Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with one Saturday per month

Pay Rate:

$17.00-$21.00 per hour (pay is dependent on experience) About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Barbourville, KY. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions, helping to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, professional, and committed to providing high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits. Answer incoming phone calls and regularly monitor voicemail messages. Check patients in and out while monitoring and maintaining efficient patient flow. Perform urine drug screens, obtain and document vital signs, and assist with patient evaluations. Call in patient medications as directed by the physician. Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the electronic health record (EHR). Submit prior authorizations to insurance companies and follow up as needed. Prepare daily financial summaries and balance payments received. Collect patient payments and verify insurance benefits. Review the Prescription Monitoring Database as directed. Provide patients with medication education and appropriate resource information. Support providers and the healthcare team with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Team player with a collaborative and professional approach. Dependable, reliable, and punctual. Compassionate and patient-focused. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
