Non-Exempt Position Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the healthcare facility. This role involves assisting providers with patient care, performing routine clinical tasks, and maintaining accurate patient records. The MA plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a positive and welcoming environment.   • Quality Staff Clinical Support Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
Assist providers during exams and minor procedures Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, and conduct diagnostic tests as directed by a provider. Clean and sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms between patients. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing. Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive health strategies as directed by a provider. Administrative Duties Schedule patient appointments. Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Verify patient insurance and assist with billing inquiries. Respond to patient calls and follow up on lab results or provider instructions. Patient Education and Communication Promote exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, respectful, and compassionate experience for every patient. Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventative health strategies. Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism. Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and other healthcare team members. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations. Participate in Incident Reporting and Safety expectations. Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical guidelines. Maintain all required certifications and complete mandatory education and competency assessments within required timeframes. Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Participate in daily clinical huddles and care coordination activities
  • Assist other providers and clinical teams as patient volume and operational needs require.
  • Support organizational initiatives designed to improve patient access, quality outcomes, and patient experience. Other Duties As Assigned
  • Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Manager or organizational leadership in support of patient care and organizational operations.
Qualifications Education and Certification High school diploma or equivalent (required). Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred). Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (preferred). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required). Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (preferred). Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems (preferred). Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift and move patients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work in a clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Pay:
$16.00 - $23.00 per hour
