Job Description

Responsible for assisting the provider, as directed, in the process of providing professional services for patients when needed, including but not limited to, preparing patients for examination, taking vital signs, assisting the physician during the exam, perform point of care testing, collecting and preparing lab specimens, properly receiving and documenting verbal orders from provider, preparing and administering medications as directed by a provider, authorizing prescription refills as directed, assisting provider with in-office procedures, addressing items as assigned in EMR in a timely manner, addressing patient requests and inquiries in a timely manner, and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure / Certification /
Registration:
must be certified/registered within six months of hire
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required Completion of Certified Medical Assistant program
Experience:
Internship as required by RMA/CMA program, required. Experience in physician's office preferred, minimum one year experience in clinical setting
