Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Registered Nurse (RN); works under the direction of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) About OneQuest Health OneQuest Health (OQH) is a behavioral health organization serving Northern Kentucky, providing residential and outpatient care to children, adolescents, and families. Our PRTF program serves 36 adolescent residents, ages 7-14, across two campuses in Burlington and Covington, offering structured, trauma-informed treatment in a safe, supportive residential setting. Position Summary The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is a critical member of the nursing and residential care team, responsible for the safe and accurate administration of medications to residents under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, and in support of the Licensed Practical Nurse. The CMA helps ensure residents receive their prescribed medications on schedule, in accordance with Kentucky Board of Nursing standards and OneQuest Health's clinical policies, while supporting the day-to-day rhythm of a residential treatment environment for youth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility policy, and Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) regulations governing certified medication aides, under the supervision of the RN. Accurately document all medication administration in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and resident chart. Observe and report any resident response to medication, including side effects, refusals, or adverse reactions, to the supervising RN/LPN immediately. Assist the LPN with medication-related tasks, inventory, and reordering as directed. Maintain proper storage, security, and disposal of medications in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, direct care staff, and clinical team members regarding resident medication needs. Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for adolescent residents in accordance with trauma-informed care principles. Respond appropriately to medication errors or incidents, following facility protocol and reporting requirements. Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Perform other duties as assigned by nursing or residential leadership. Qualifications Active Kentucky Certified Medication Aide I (CMA I) certification in good standing, per 201 KAR 20:700. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum age 18. Prior experience working with children/adolescents in a residential, behavioral health, or healthcare setting preferred. child-safety clearance. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Reliable transportation.
