Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Clinical Medical Assistant to join our neurosurgery team. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional care delivery. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately. Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all supplies are stocked for efficient patient care. Support physicians during procedures, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Document medical information precisely in medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations. Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordinate referrals within the clinic or hospital setting. Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance strategies. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, ICD coding, and pharmacology to support accurate documentation and billing. Requirements Prior experience in medical office settings or clinical environments such as office, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards Is recommended but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs collection and medication administration with precision. Experience working with electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) such as Epic or Cerner is desirable. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and medical documentation accuracy. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as hospital trauma centers or emergency medicine settings; inpatient experience is advantageous.
